Karyn's Christmas Punch Recipe

Karyn's Christmas Punch Recipe
Karyn Tucker, a good friend and neighbor, has a big family consisting of 11 grown children and 34 grandchildren. When they are all at her house, it’s a big crowd. It has been a tradition for over 30 years in their family to serve Karyn’s Christmas Punch, and Karyn knows that the party would be ruined if a crowd as big as her family were all disappointed that the punch wasn’t served. Most years, the family crowd is big, even though everyone isn’t always able to attend.

This snowy-looking punch is slushy, and can be made up to a couple of weeks ahead and forgotten about in the freezer. Once unmolded into a large punchbowl, a large knife (adults only) is used to break it up a bit, then Sprite is poured over. Not only is this punch easy, but it is refreshing and delicious.

Although this slush looks wintery and frosty just like it is, if you want to be fancy, you could add some food coloring to the limeade mixture to make it look festive. You can garnish it with a few silk Christmas flowers or holly, but it probably won’t be necessary, since it will go fast.
